“ An update: Narrow Gauge has moved, and the new tasting room opened in November 2024. There's plenty of room, the nearby Cugino's delivers to the bar, and patrons are welcome to bring in their own food from elsewhere. And the beer's better than ever! On a recent visit we tried the Usawa, an ale brewed with roobios tea; it had an unusual but pleasant taste with just enough tea flavor. The Meersalz is another winner, a gose with coriander and just a touch of sea salt. You can't go wrong at Narrow Gauge; they cover many styles of beer and do them all well. ”

“ Florissant truly has some gems when it comes to eating and drinking. Narrow Guage recently opened their tap room, right next door to Cuginos where they started. Lots of seating options, plenty of spots at the bar, pinball machines and dogs welcome. Food can be ordered from Cuginos (get the stuffed meatballs!) And delivered to the tap room. Staff is helpful and friendly. So many fresh beers to choose from and perhaps the best in town. I especially like a beer brewed with rooibos tea, the black IPA and the Prince Fallen Flag IPA. Huge selection of to go beer, too. Go get you some! ”

“ Narrow Gauge's new space is awesome! When you walk in you are greeted by friendly and welcoming staff. They detail the beer menu and are knowledgeable about their beers. The space is very nice, open, cozy and modern. They have a large bar area with seating, several large tables and some cozy lounge chair seating. This would be a great space for a large group gathering! Narrow Gauge's beers are some of the best in St. Louis! I had my favorite, Fallen Flag, which was delicious! The best hazy IPA! I also tried the peanut butter banana stout, which was amazing if you like that flavor profile and stouts! They also offer to go cans. They don't serve food, but you can bring your own food. Several people ordered pizza from a place nearby. Their space was very cozy, comfortable and welcoming! I will definitely be back! ”

“ Narrow Gauge is a good brewery that shares a space with an Italian restaurant. The brewery has a good selection and makes some good beers. They are particularly known for their IPAs. Generally speaking I'm not too into IPAs, but I like some of theirs. The bar area is a little run down, so not the best environment, but their selection (15-20 different beers) and quality make it worth a trip up to north county. You can buy some of their beers to go, but the to go window has limited hours and selection. ”

“ I have wanted to go to Narrow Gauge for a while now, but always end up running out of time when I'm in St. Louis. This time around I made the drive out to Florissant, MO to try a few of their beers. They are situated inside of Cugino's, which has some great Italian food from Toasted Ravs (IYKYK), smash burgers, sammies, and St. Louis Style Pizza. I grabbed a few small pours of beer, opened my book, and had a great time. DDH OJ Run: Freshly tapped this Double Dry Hopped Imperial IPA hopped with Citra, Galaxy, and Amarillo hops. Huge citrus / orange juice / pineapple flavors, medium aromas, and some low resiny hop flavor. Pleasant medium-high bitterness that balances the citrus sweetness. Great beer and you really can tell the freshness of it. Glad I got to try it! DDH Sparkle Motion: A Double Dry Hopped American Pale Ale hopped with Citra and Galaxy. Another jam packed beer with tangerine / orange zest / grapefruit and some earthy hops. Medium-full mouthfeel, but not chewy. Bready malts provide some balance, which is nice and characteristic of an American Pale Ale. Chicken Out Pils: I saw Kellerbier and I had to order it. This Kellerbier style lager is brewed with Wai-iti and Callista hops. The style traditionally is unpasteurized and unclarified, served straight from an oak cask in a beer garden. I didn't ask if it was being served from the cask, but it definitely tasted like a Kellerbier. The beer was hazy like it had yeast in suspension, aromas of mandarin orange / peach / tropical fruit. Very crisp with low malt character of rice cracker. Patio crusher if I ever tried one. ”

“ Since discovering Narrow Gauge's delicious brews a few years back, I've made either Cugino's or the brewery my first stop after landing at Lambert. While it's the beer that draws me, Cugino's deserves a shout, too. One location gives me two delights I can't get in Colorado--Narrow Gauge (NG) brews and the St. Louis-only delicacy that is provel. Cugino's oozes old-school St. Louis County vibes--big families who all seem to know each other gathering to grab a Sunday lunch, mixed in with random folks of all kinds. It feels warm and welcoming. Service has been friendly and attentive, with an uncommon understanding of craft beer. The menu is light on pasta, but has enough pizza, sandwiches, apps, etc., to please. Step over to the Narrow Gauge side. You can order food, but folks are here for suds. NG has a national following for their IPAs, and deservedly so. The beer would taste great anywhere, but both the patio and inside seating invite you in to enjoy. Today, I had one of their flagships, Cloud City. This NEIPA left me smiling as much as its DDH cousin last time I was here. Zavtrak, a double coffee stout, won the day, however. Aged on vanilla beans with adjunct cinnamon and maple, this one impressed enough that I took some back home to share. Saft (cherry/lemon) was a nicely balanced sour, slightly tart, totally crushable. Five stars to Narrow Gauge, 3.5 to Cugino's, but I come here for beer first. IMO, this place is a must-stop for both world-class beer and a chill place to enjoy it--provel or no provel. ”
